The buses are equipped with all security & safety devices and have places reserved for people with special needs” said Al Dosari.
As to the interior designs of these two routes, CEO of RTA Public Transport Agency stated that those buses are safe, roomy, reliable and convenient. “They fit well with the progress enjoyed by the UAE in general and Dubai in particular in all fields, particularly tourism; which has become a key feature of the emirate of Dubai. Already the city is a leading commercial & economic hub in the region and a point of attraction for investors & businessmen from various parts of the globe.
“Offering this service is part of the Strategic Plan of the RTA to uplift mass transit modes in Dubai and attract more commuters with a view to ease road congestion. RTA is keen to widen this service and boost the share of mass transit to 30% of person trips. This can be achieved through providing top quality & affordable transport alternatives, with wide geographical coverage and capable of competing private vehicles. Here we have to disseminate the awareness and reorient the existing social perspective towards mass transit modes, and seek to provide multi-modal integration of buses, metro, marine transport and taxis.
“This step is viewed as a quality addition capable of upgrading the level of services rendered to the increasing number of commuters in the said areas triggered by the huge urban & accelerated growth witnessed by the emirate in every field. Moreover, they will contribute to better traffic flow, and this will undoubtedly ease traffic congestion; particularly during the morning & evening rush hours.
